
One of the state’s top two-way prospects in the rising 2024 class, Bowling Green RB/OLB Daegon Bryant has seen his star rise after a breakout performance at the Kickoff23 Showcase.
Bryant, at 6’2, 185-pounds, rushed for 1,097 yards and 23 TDs, added 199 yards receiving and three TDs on offense, while recording 72 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries on defense last season.
He recorded a 4.51 laser timed 40-yard dash, the fourth fastest time recorded among nearly 650 athletes at Six Star Football’s winter events — Midwest Showcase and Kickoff23 Showcase. He added a 118 inch broad jump and 34.5 inch vertical leap, also two of the top mark in each event. He was among a handful of athletes selected to compete at TheFINALS All-America Showcase in Kansas City on on May 28.
He ha since seen his recruiting take off, picking up his first offer on Feb. 22 from Eastern Illinois and has since added offers from South Dakota State, Miami (OH), Ball State and Colorado State.
Six Star Football recently caught up with Hales and asked him about his offseason and recent recruiting.

Six Star Football — Tell people who haven’t seen you okay about your game, strengths as a player.
Daegon – I believe my strengths would be never giving up on a play, I’m a hard hitter and I’m fast.
Six Star Football — Tell us about your high school squad.
Daegon – We’re a pretty big run team but we can throw when we want to.
Six Star Football — Anyone in particular that you have looked up to or patterned your game after as a player?
Daegon – I would say I pattern my game after Ray Lewis.
Six Star Football —What are some things you are focused on this off-season?
Daegon – I’ve been working on getting faster, bigger, and some footwork.
Six Star Football — Tell us about your offers? What has the recruiting experience been like for you so far to this point?
Daegon – I’ve got 5 D1 offers from Eastern Illinois, Colorado State, Ball State, Miami Ohio, and South Dakota. The process is amazing! I didn’t think I would have this much attention as I’m getting now.
Six Star Football — Hobbies outside of football:
Daegon – My hobby would have to be playing video games.

Daegon –– My experience was really good had some fun and got to compete against a lot of people and meet some new people.
