NE SHOWCASE COVERAGE | Rising Offensive prospects to know from Nebraska — We look at some of the impressive rising offensive prospects who made some noise at the Six Star Football NE Showcase on April 24 at Doane University in Crete, Neb.
Here, Six Star Football takes a look at several of the top offensive players that have received All-America invites.
Cooper Cerny, 6’3, 175, TE, 2023, Norris @Cooperc8235
A very long and athletic lean TE, Cerny was one of the standouts at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska and led all performers there with the top vertical jump, a mark of 35.1 inches. He also tied for second best broad jump distance with a jump of 9’3 and was third fastest athlete in the 40 yard dash with a laser timed 4.76 mark. No doubt this guy was one of the most athletic players at the event, and is a track star kind of athlete also, add in a long 6-3 inch frame and you really have one of the most intriguing prospects and athletes in Nebraska football to watch out for.
Ashton Coffey, 5’10, 170, WR, 2024, Lincoln North Star @ashtoncoffey6
One of the guys that is a pure football player and can be a versatile weapon on offense also, good hands and good footwork, along with vision and a nice ability to make would be tacklers miss in the open field highlight his resume of impressive attributes and skills. Two big years left also, we think Coffey will be in for a very impressive year as a junior at Lincoln North Star. Can play all over the field from RB/WR and defensively DB or LB.
Colby Duncan, 6’1, 165, QB, 2024, Gross Catholic @ColbyD04
When you look at Nebraska QBs to know in the 2024 class, one of the risers and arms to know coming up is 6-1, 165 Colby Duncan from Gross Catholic High School. Duncan is a player and leader that can go out there and pick apart a defense, he showed just how impressive of an arm he had in 2021 as a sophomore with 674 yards through the air, 53.75 completion mark and nine touchdowns, all in just 16 quarters of football as well.
Tanner Esch, 6’0, 165, WR, 2024, Columbus @EschTanner
Esch impressed at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska and had the sixth best broad jump mark overall of 9’0. One of the guys that really jumped out to us as a riser among athletes and hot prospects in the Nebraska class of 2024. Esch is a WR that has speed and skills and is one of those athletes that can use his speed to be a go that will be more and more of a key go to WR and offensive weapon in the passing attack for Columbus in 2022.
Nolan Feller, 5’6, 166, RB, 2024, Millard South @nolanfeller22
Feller, an electric back at Millard South in the 2024 class tied for seventh best broad jump mark at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska, a mark of 8’9. Feller also showed some impressive speed and his 40 yard dash time of 4.81 (laser timed) was in the top 10 among all athletes at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska. Feller is quick and one of those running backs that finds the seems and is off to the races on the outside edges, a very aggressive runner also that will get every inch he can when he is handed off the football.
Tanner Gartner, 5’11, 175, RB, 2024, Gering @tanner_gartner
One of the players that can use speed to be a big time athlete, Western Region standout looking for another big year, junior this year coming up, Gartner is a player that can impress and has been one of the most impressive athletes we have seen at 6Star Football Showcase events, no doubt a player and an athlete that can use his footwork to be a major asset to either side of the football as needed, we also like his hands and ability to be a versatile offensive weapon.
Anthony Heithoff, 5’10, 185, RB, 2024, Skutt Catholic @heithoff1
No doubt one of the standout true athletes at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska, Heithoff was a big rusher this year and showed out at the Showcase by tying for second among all athletes with a 34.9 inch vertical jump. Heithoff also showed some very impressive speed at the 6Star Football Showcase where he had the fourth fastest 40 yard dash time, a laser mark of 4.79. One of the top rising talents in Nebraska football and a guy poised for a 1,000 yard rushing season in 2022.
Adonis Hutchinson, 6’0, 175, WR, 2023, Lincoln @adonisjh2
Had the 6th fastest time in the 40 yard dash at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska, a laser timed mark of 4.80. Coming off a big junior season at Lincoln, Hutchinson racked up 322 receiving yards , on hi 20 receptions and had 281 kick and punt return yards also, 30 tackles as a defensive standout also, no doubt he has been on several major D1 radars and has made visits to several D1 colleges like Northern Illinois and Penn State just to name a few.
Micah Langston, 5’11, 170, WR, 2023, Norris @MicahLangston_1
Langston was an impressive looking athlete at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska and tied the top overall broad jump mark of 9’4. Had the fifth best overall vertical jump also, a mark of 33.7 inches. Langston’s 40 yard dash laser time of 4.87 was also in the top 10 among all athletes at the 6Star Football Showcase in Nebraska. No doubt Langston is one of the elite looking athletes on the field to take some major notice of for the program at Norris.
