With the Feb. 3 signing day on the horizon and quickly approaching, Six Star Football takes a look at several talented running back prospects who remain uncommitted.
The list includes a host of players who currently hold offers and are still weighing their options.
Dominic Edwin, 6’0, 290, OL/DL, Christian @DominicEdwin13
A strong player off the line who can wrap up players and take them to the ground. He is a confident prospect with a lot of enthusiasm and drive and is motivated to make plays and he often performs his best and most meaningful minutes when matched against highly regarded pass rushers. He is physical and has active hands and has improved his overall frame as he continues to work in the weight room and with his overall technique and conditioning. A player who has earned some attention in the recruiting world this last year, Edwin currently holds offers from William Penn, University of St, Francis, St. Ambrose University, Culver-Stockton and Roosevelt.
Tyler Duerbeck, 6’7, 290, OL, 2021, Ritenour @Ty_upnextt
Duerbeck is a strong lineman for ritenour who has upside given his frame and work ethic. He’s an intelligent player both on and off the field (4.0 GPA) and has toughness as a blocker and past protector. He is capable of using his size to his advantage and is good at one-on-one situations on the edge. He has improved footwork and strong hands and can use his length to push back opponents and keep them out wide. He currently holds an offer from Roosevelt University, he has been flying under the radar. A player who shows strength versatility as a DE as well.
Michael Fanz, 6’0, 305, OL, 2021, Rockwood Summit @michael_fanz
A strong prospect who holds his weight and looks to power his way through opponents. He is a versatile player who can see time as a defensive tackle as well as an offensive lineman. He moves well after the snap and shows leverage and strong blocking abilities for his size. He is confident when he is matched up against taller opponents and can gain ground and hold his own. He’s a hard-working prospect who has put in the time and has a lot to offer. A physical two-way prospect who is only going to improve.
Ramarco Ford, 5’11, 255, OL, Christian @FordRamarco
A nice player who has seen action in a variety of places on the line. Ford has a strong IQ for the game and he understands his position and he looks to jump off the line and make contact when his team is looking to move the ball on the ground. He uses his frame well and can lean on opponents and drive his feet into the ground. Ford has been able to produce wherever he is at and shows resilience and a strong work ethic and a good head on his shoulders as well. A good player who continues to push himself in the weight room.
Owen Heslin, 6’2, 225, OL 2021, Francis Howell @heslin_owen
A solid stock riser who has seen an increase in recruiting. Heslin is a mobile player who shows strength and technique and a good upside as a prospect. He shows toughness to him and a frame that will likely add weight as he ages. He’s not maxed out physically although he shows a lot of strength and effort in the weight room. A player who goes all-out on every play and can really make a stand in the trenches. He currently holds offers from Roosevelt and Lyon College and also picked up a recent offer from Culver Stockton College.
Brandon Johnson, 6’4, 305, OL, Hazelwood Central @bjohnson_45
Johnson is a tall, big lineman who can move across the field and make big hits. He is an underrated prospect who has a lot to offer as a lineman moving forward. He’s listed at 6’4, 205-pounds and he has improved every year he saw action. A physical player who can move opponents out of the way and can turn them and push or take them to the ground. A strong and imposing player to match up against. He currently holds an offer from Missouri Southern State University.
Donovan Kuehn, 6’3, 240, OL, 2021, Francis Howell @DonavanKuehn
Kuehn is an underrated player who can make impacts on both sides of the ball. He’s a solid offensive lineman who shows mobility and the power at contact to lay out opponents. He’s quick on his feet and can make impressive plays look easy and can make easy running lanes for rushers. He’s great at staying in front of athletic pass rushers and can make moves against strong players as well. The kind of guard quarterbacks feel comfortable on the line as he can play physical and hard throughout the entire play and is always looking to stay with the quarterback and keep defenders out of position.
Ben Reiff, 6’2, 225, OL, 2021, Ladue @BenReiff1
A solid player for Ladue who can see action as both an offensive lineman and as a defensive end. He is a player who has speed and toughness and a solid frame overall. He isn’t defined by either position, showing up and competinging and making plays across the board. He recorded 10 total tackles (8 solo) in Ladue’s four games and shows good situational awareness. Offensively he also looked good, showing an ability to play big and make plays and stand his ground and open gaps for rushers. A versatile prospect who earned all-conference honors for his play.
Justen Richardson, 6’2, 265, OL, 2021, Lutheran North @JustenRichards1
A strong and underrated performer at Lutheran North who has a lot of qualities college programs look for in a lineman. He’s a player who can make big plays and hits and he isn’t intimidated by the competition. He works hard and shows leadership and can be counted on to open holes and handle strong and physical interior rushers. A first team all-conference performer who sets a tone and shows a lot of potential moving forward. Richardson recently received his first offer from Midland University and he has received interest from a variety of other programs as well.
Blake Schroeder, 6’1, 230, OL, 2021, Borgia @blockey78
Has been physical and productive on offense for Borgia. A smart player at center who is reliable and shows a nice combination of strength and mobility after the snap. Can be seen on defense as well and had 13 tackles and one fumble recovery for the year. One of those players who can constantly apply pressure or stand his ground and he plays hard and can open gaps and continue to block. A player who can do a little of everything.
Raphael Sowah, 6’3, 300, OL, 2021, MICDS @raphael_sowah
An underrated and overlooked prospect who has earned a host of honors for his play. A big, strong player who can make powerful hits after the snap. Sowah can make plays on both sides of the ball and has the size and toughness to overpower opponents. A first team all district and first team all state performer who has a lot to offer as a prospect. He’s listed at 6’3, 300-pounds and he holds his weight and can move well and get down the field and make blocks against quick defenders. Sowah currently holds an offer from Aurora University and has been putting in extra time in the weight room.
Zack Stevenson, 6’2, 300, OL, SLUH @ZakStevenson3
Another versatile player for SLUH who sees time on the offensive line and as a defensive tackle. He shows straight line power in head-on situations and can disrupt plays as a defender and push defenders out of the way and create holes for the run game on offense. A hard-working and tough player who has size and good weight and looks to gain momentum as he plays, never taking off and continuing to push and pull until the play is completed. Stevenson was a first team all-conference, second team all-district honoree whoHe currently holds an offer from Louisiana College.
Courtney Van Buren, 6’4, 310, OL, 2021, Trinity @cjvanburenii
A multiple time all-everything honoree who combines size and strength and power. Van Buren is a scheme disrupter who has an imposing frame at 6’4, 310-pounds and shows the speed and playmaking ability to turn heads. A matchup problem for both the inexperienced and experienced pass rushers as he can quickly knock them to the ground or even take them on a trip. An impressive player and one who shows a lot of potential and a high ceiling as a prospect. Van Buren currently holds offers from Memphis, Arkansas Pine Bluff to name a few and has received a lot of attention and interest from a variety of programs.
