seemingly checks all the boxes for what a big time college tight end prospect is supposed to look like. He has elite size at 6’6, 230-pounds, big time athleticism and the ability to impact a game as both a blocker and downfield playmaker.

He has seen his stock soar in recent weeks, picking up Division I offers from Kansas, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), Eastern Michigan and Tulsa and is drawing interest from numerous other programs as well.

Six Star Football recently caught up with Osmond and asked him about the offseason and the recruiting process.

☑️SHOWCASE EVENTS Six Star Football will be hosting the Oklahoma Showcase on April 2 in Broken Arrow, offering prospects an opportunity to be seen by coaches and Six Star scouts, compete against elite prospects and earn an invite to TheFINALS All-America Showcase.

Six Star Football Camps

Six Star Football — Tell people who haven’t seen you okay about your game, strengths as a player.
Derrick — My teammates are amazing at giving me so many ways to show college teams what I can do at the next level. I try to be a leader and influence younger people to lead in any way they can.

Six Star Football — Tell us about your high school squad.
Derrick — My teammates are some dogs. We have so many people at BA who do the little things that let us win and they don’t get the credit they deserve.

Six Star Football — Anyone in particular that you have looked up to or patterned your game after as a player?
Derrick — I look up to Travis Kielce and josh willhite, they play the game for the right reasons and have shown me what it means to be a man.

Six Star Football — What are some things you are focused on this off-season?
Derrick — This off season I want to be a leader and show younger kids how to me Christan man, I used to think that players who are good at football and use there platform to spread the gospel were weird, but after giving my life to Christ I understand now that he was trying to use them to reach people who might not get the chance to ring the lord.

Six Star Football — Tell us about your offers? What has the recruiting experience been like for you so far to this point?
Derrick — After I received all my offers I didn’t want to get a big head and try to show off so I just stay humble and keep close relationships with all of my coaches

Six Star Football — Hobbies outside of football.
Derrick — I like to have fun with some friends and just hangout with family and spend some time with the lord.
