Class of 2023 QBs that are high stock risers – A look at some of the best of the best young junior to be arms and QBs that are high stock risers, many big time arms that can make some big time plays and rack up huge games, some making starts for the first time, others already very experience crafty vets.
Nick Anderson, 5-10, 160, QB, 2022, Chapman (KS) @NickAnderson_10
A pure competitor and the man at the helm under center for the 2021 season, no doubt Anderson will have some big shoes to fill from 2021 grad and excellent QB Trevor Erickson, a player that could make it happen with his feet and arm. We look for an impressive and steady passing attack this upcoming season from Anderson, a player that knows the system well and is eager to take advantage of a pair of impressive WR’s in Cavanaugh and Liebau to throw to. No doubt Anderson’s play will be crucial to the success of the Chapman offensive unit in 2021 and we think he is up to the challenge and should be one of the top QBs in the NCKL.
Malachi Berg, 6-2, 185, QB, 2023, Topeka West (KS) @malachiberg2004
Taking a look in the city of Topeka, a guy that is certainly coming on very strong in the super sophomore QB class of 2023 is Topeka West’s Malachi Berg. Last season the talented Berg had 139 yards rushing, 519 yards passing for 658 total yards and a per game average of 134.7. His style of play is that of a QB that can get out of the pocket if needed to but is not a break loose type of speed guy but will sit and the lock in and wait until things open up. Also runs a very fast 4.5 in the 40 yard dash, so one of the fastest ’23 QBs with the ball in his hands.
Tyler Brewer, 5-8, QB, 2023, Waverly (NE) @brewer1023
One of the impressive up and coming QBs for Waverly, a team loaded with QBs that have some big time arms and skills, no doubt another of the offensive arsenal play makers should be Tyler Brewer, a player that can rack up the big plays and one of the young weapons we think could develop into a big time play maker at QB.
Bryant Bull, 6-5,175, QB, 2023, Marshfield (MO) @BryantBull1
One of the southwest Missouri area QBs that really has a big upside to his game and also have a nice longer and lean frame at 6-5 inches tall, one of the best builds for the next level at the upcoming showcase, Bull has the potential to be as good as he wants to be and is a guy that you have to admire for his hard work ethic and his ability to put in the time to be the best he can be. Good ball placement and a strong arm are big time elements to his passing attack. Bull is also a strong baseball player with the ability to light up a radar gun. He has a bright future in both sports.
Andrew Hedgecorth, 5-10, 160, QB, 2023, Smithville (MO) @LilHedgie_11
District title QB for Smithville that has a huge upside to his game and skills, no doubt Hedgecorth can make some big time things happen on the field for a Smithville offensive unit that has some great go to play makers down the field. Hedgecorth is one of those QBs that can air it out with the best of them and racked up a wow season in 2020 with 2309 yards and a 67.82% completion mark along with 25 TDs.
Tyner Horn, 6-0, 160, QB, 2023, Eisenhower (KS) @HotnTyner
Big time impressive transfer to Einenhower High School in Kansas that can make some huge plays and had in week one 250 yards passing and in week two had 226 yards, no doubt a lively arm and a play maker for Eisenhower that also has some great downfield targets coming back, we like Horn’s skills and he is an all-around impressive athlete that you can expect to make good choices and big plays, smart and quick, Horn is a good one coming up out of Kansas.
Garrison Kurtz, 6-1, 178, QB, 2023, Navarre (FL) @Garrison_Kurtz3
The line QB from Florida at the event, no doubt this Southern superstar coming up for the talented Navarre High School program is a player that can make some big time plays down the field, a guy that can see the field very well. Good sized frame and has a good a good strong arm and is a very accurate downfield passer, gets rid of the ball very quickly. Kurtz showed off his all-around athleticism in the combine portion of the event, running a strong 4.90 40-yard dash and posting a 106-inch broad jump. A strong student with a high football IQ, Kurtz reports a 4.66 GPA.
Anakin Olguin, 5-7, 216,QB, 2023, Liberty North (MO) @anakin_olguin
A play maker with a good arm that can really step into his throws and throw some lazers, like his canon for an arm, no doubt a player that will be looking for two more big years at Liberty North to get his name on the radar and make some big plays, we like his skills and his leadership abilities to make the big plays. No doubt one of the hot radar potential QBs in the 2023 class.
Brock Zerger, 5-11, 180, QB, 2023, Derby (KS) @brock_zerger
A very good dual threat QB and a guy that will look to continue to give Derby a speed QB for the next several years. Zerger is a player that runs a 4.75 in the 40 yard dash and can make those huge plays. We look for his poise and ability to make things happen to really shine through as we expect him to be one of the very best in the 2023 Kansas class for the powerhouse Derby program.
