Orangewood Christian 2021 DE Andrew Thompson is an underrated pass rusher that works hard to get off the ball and around offensive lineman.
A lean, athletic 6’1, 200-pounds, Thompson makes most of his tackles on the interior and works hard to stop the run and pressure the quarterback. Thomopon takes pride in playing with a big motor and has seen his hard work this offseason pay off.
Thompson reports a 4.9 40-yard dash, 265 bench, 405 squat and 30 inch vertical and says he has spent the offseason focused on getting bigger, stronger and faster.
“I work everyday to make that happen,” he says.
Thompson says COVID-19 hasn’t slowed down his work much as he has stayed working throughout the offseason.
“ I was still at my coaches hosue everyday working out Monday through Friday, two to three hours per day,” Thompson said. “The only part it affected was camps.”
Orangewood Christian has opened the 2020 season 0-3, but Thompson says the team still has the potential and ability to put things together this season.
“I think we are going to be a good team we all work hard and have a lot of heart and love for the game.”
