FLA STOCK RISERS I Several WR prospects making noise
Six Star Football takes a look at several prospects making noise early in the season.
With the upcoming season now underway, Six Star Football takes a look at several rising WR prospects who stood out in the early going.
Isaac Ashley | 6-4, 195 | 2024, WR/TE | Lakewood Ranch | @IsaacAshley919
One of the standouts last year at the Orlando Showcase, 6-4, 195 Isaac Ashley is big and a very hard man to coer at 6-1, 195, he does a nice joh of being a TE/WR to throw to over the middle with size and has good secure the ball hands. A big opener for him with a pair of touchdowns and over 30 yards at the TE spot, no doubt a very good TE weapon on the team and one of those guys that has the length to be a target over the middle that is hard to contain from getting the football in his hands.
Isaiah Cordero | 5’9, 135, | WR | 2025 | Bayside | @isaiahCordero13
Cordero may not be the biggest WR out there at 5-9, 135 but no doubt he is one of the hardest WRs in the sophomore class to contain and has looked like an early game changer in the passing attack for Bayside this year. Cordero went for 151 yards receiving on six catches and was a impressive go to play maker for Bayside and one of the guys that looks like a top hands guy for the sophomore class in Florida.
Dallas Golden | 6’1, 170 | WR | 2025 | Berkeley Prep | @DallasGolden8
One of the young stars in Florida football’s sophomore class, recent offers among his long list are from Syracuse, Rutgers, and Notre Dame. Sky is the limit for this hot sophomore target and speed threat that has that game changing speed to take any catch to the house. Golden, 6-1, 170, had a big opening week of ball with 110 yards on just three catches and average a whopping 36.6 yards per catch for the Berkeley Prep offense in Tampa.
Waden Charles | 6’2, 180 | WR/ATH | 2025 | Sommerset Canyons | @takeemdeep9_
Six Star Football Florida Showcase was a standout at Sommerset Canyons and had two long TD passes in the Cougars opening night win over Glades Day. A player that has good size at 6-2, 180 and can be a physical WR that is a tough matchup to handle for defensive backs in the open field. Charles will be that MVP type of offensive weapon this year and is just a sophomore this year but plays well beyond his years as a nice go to weapon down the field with soft hands and a long stride.
Shamar Rigby | 6’5, 180 | WR | 2024 | Lakewood | @Shamarrigby1
Big size, athleticism, high points the ball and is a dangerous threat in the red zone. Teamed up with University of Virginia commit QB Anthony Colandrea five times for 80 yards and two TDs. At 6-5, 180 is a bigger target that is posing a lot of problems early on for defenses to have a good answer for in coverage down the field, and with his size will be looking to have a big junior season as a hot pass catcher in the Lakewood offense. Can also be a very good downfield blocker for the offense.
Tyler Smith | 5’11, 170 | WR/DB |2023 | Sunlake | @tylersmith4_
Six Star Football Florida Showcase standout had a big performance in week 1 against Wesley Chapel hauling in six passes for 137 yards and a TD. A play maker at WR that loves to get the ball and make guys miss for big yards up the field, an impressive competitor that is tough to handle and a play maker that can also be a kick and punt returner on special teams as a nice impact maker on the field position game, no doubt he has a lot of potential to be a huge impact maker and is one of those athletes you like to have on the football field as much as possible.
Patrick Stepelton | 6’2, 197 | WR | 2023 | Cardinal Gibbons | @PatrickStepelt1
Officially, Cardinal Gibbons 2023 WR Patrick Stepelton had two catches for zero yards in Friday’s game against powerhouse DeMatha. But, the 6’2, 197-pound receiver recorded one of the biggest plays of the game, as he hauled in a key fourth down pass and held on through contact late in the fourth quarter to help the Chiefs keep its game-winning drive alive as Cardinal Gibbons recorded a hard-fought 11-6 win in its opener. Talented player picked up a key fourth down in big win over DeMatha
Cam Ware | 5’9, 170 | WR | 2024 | Lake Highland Prep | @CamWare10
Big time athlete and might be just 5-9, 170, but is a very physical and impressive looking athlete who has blow up as a major recruit and holds offers from Brown and Florida Atlantic. Ware has also made visits to several big time programs like Georgia Tech, Florida, Georgia State, and Mercer and Ware has been at some big camps like Duke and North Carolina as well. A big WR prospect on the high radar in the Orlando metro area for Lake Highland Prep.
Tyree Weatherspoon | 6’4, 175 |WR | 2025 | Deltona | @TyreeWeathersp1
Deltona’s big and impressive looking sophomore WR Tyree Weatherspoon has the size and is looking like he has that it factor also for the Deltona offense. With 118 yards on just three catches in a runaway season-opening win over Winter Springs, you can see that Weatherspoon’s ability to turn up the field and be a long strider with pull away speed and length could make him one of the names to know among big and impressive targets in the Florida watch list prospects for his grade.
