FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The Six Star Football 2021 Florida Showcase featured several talented rising class of 2022-23 DB prospects from around the state as several players took their game to new heights and showed off their all-around skills in both the Six Star Football combine and showcase events.
520 — Santhony Brown, 6-1, 180, DB, 2022, American Heritage Delray @Sanbrown_
An All-Palm Beach County selection a year ago, Brown was was one of the most impressive prospects at the 6Star Football FL Showcase among DBs. Blessed with good size at 6’1, 185-pounds, Brown is a hybrid safety/corner prospects who can cover a ton of ground in the secondary unit, can play a spy linebacker on the outside edge and then drop back in coverage and make a big time play on the ball, a special talent for sure. Also a standout student, Brown reports a 3.75 GPA.
854 — Jermarein Jeudy, 5-10, 160, DB, 2022, Plantation @jermarein
Plantation 2022 Jermarein Jeudy is a good looking up-and-coming play makerfrom Plantation that we think is in for a very good final season, a fine athlete and a player that will rely on some good speed to be one of the key secondary men to watch out for this upcoming season. He is a big hitter, is capable of making plays on special teams and is good in coverage.
851 — Isaiah Rivers, 6-0, 160, DB, 2022, Flagler Palm Coast @isaiahrivers04
Lean and fast, Rivers was one of the most impressive looking play makers in the Florida class of 2022 among defensive backs at the 6Star Football FL Showcase. Rivers is a player that can really jump a route and make some huge plays, very hard one on one matchup and a player that is always ready to make one big time play after another. Excellent coverage defensive back in the FLA ‘22.
853 — James Simmons, 5-9, 160, DB, 2022, Palmetto @lijames123
Palmetto 2022 James Simmons was a standout performer in the combine portion of the Six Star Football Florida Showcase as he posted a 32.8 inch vertical and 111 inch broad jump, He enters the upcoming season as a defensive back prospect that we think really was an elite athlete. Simmons can really sky and make some great plays on the ball in the air and is a defender that will be a major senior leader and asset again at Palmetto for 2021. An excellent speed guy that can make some great plays, drops back into coverage and is a great cover a ton of ground in a hurry defensive back.
811 — Tommie Battle IV, 5-10, 150, DB, 2023, Lehigh @TommieBattle10
Battle was one of the top looking class of 2023 athletes at the 6Star Football FL Showcase, a major athlete with a lean and physical presence, we like Battle’s skills to be able to one huge tackle after another in the open field, one of the top one on one tacklers in the state, this guy is a major talent and a player that his teammates know that can count on for huge stops.
833 — Bryce Brown, 5-10, 140, DB, 2023, Westminster @YdcBryce
Competing on his home field at Westminster, 2023 Bryce Brown recorded one of the top overall 40-yard dash times at the Six Star Football Florida Showcase as he ran a 4.64 laser timed 40 along with 29.2 inch vertical, 112 in the broad jump. Brown is a player that can drop back into coverage and make the great reads defensive coaches love to see. A great instinct and read and react talent and a smart play maker as well, Brown really has it all.
857 — Alejandro Cisneros, 5-9, 170, DB, 2023, Coral Reef @n0limitALE
28.5 inch vertical, no doubt one of the class of 2023 play making defensive backs to really watch out for in the next two seasons at Coral Reef, Cisneros is a play maker that can make some great plays and is a guy we expect to really jump onto the high radar soon.
64 — Keith Evans, 5-7, 170, DB, 2023, Vero Beach @keithe_7
25.3 inch vertical for the big time talent from Vero Beach, Evans is a player that can make plays with his pure athletic skills, very lean and physically impressive, big time aggressive also, love his shut you down style of play and his great footwork and ability to take WRs out of their rhythm during games. A major talent and a super hot prospect to know.
997 — Colton Flint, 6’2, 170, DB, 2023, Riverdale @cflint05
At 6’2, 170-pounds, Riverdale 2023 Colton Flint is a good sized DB out of the Fort Myers area who can make some nice plays and is a key junior for 2021. Flint has the makings of becoming one of the hotter prospects in the Florida class of 2023 as he brings versatility and the ability to play multiple positions to the field. He can play corner, strong safety or outside linebacker. Flint shows a high football IQ, reads and reacts well and plays the ball in the air exceptionally well — showcasing the ability to climb the ladder and break well on the ball.
806 — Joshua Joseph, 6-0, 150, DB, 2023, Western @4mbJoshh
Western 2023 corner prospect Joshua Joseph recorded a 27.5 inch vertical at the 6Star Football FL Showcase, and showed he is a player that was impressive and a major talent, we like Joshua’s ability to close the gaps and also has makeup speed in a big way in the open field, that guy that can save a big score with a big time tackle, no doubt a player that can be electric on the field.
840 — Albert Soto, 5-10, 155, DB, 2023, Newsome @AlbertSoto25
Newsome 2023 prospect Albert Soto brings terrific versatility to the field with the ability to play multiple positions in the defensive backfield. Blessed with good agility and strong leaping abilities, Soto has played corner, free safety and strong safety. He recorded a 32.2 inch vertical and a 103 inch broad jump at the Six Star Football Florida Showcase and was one of the most impressive looking athletes at the event. Soto is a player that is a very good one one one play maker, can run stride for stride with anyone out there, gets great position on plays and takes really good angles on balls in the air as well.
845 — Devon Summerset, 6-0, 185, DB, 2023, Westport @summerset_devon
A bybrid defensive back/ outside linebacker prospect, Sommerset showed off a 29.9 inch vertical for the Westport product at the 6Star Football FL Showcase. Devon is a player that can make up a ton of room on the field in a split second, shows excellent footwork and speed, and is a good play reader — one of those guys that has the skills and talent to be among the tops in the class of 2023. Big time looking athlete to watch out for in 2021.
768 — Kaleb Tankard, 5-10, 175, SS, 2023, Sandalwood @kj_tankard
An elite competitor, Tankard showed out in the combine portion of the Six Star Football Florida Showcase, recording a laser timed 4.80 40-yard dash, 30.2 inch vertical and 107 broad jump, both good looking numbers. Tankard is a special talent and a player that is going to be one hot junior prospect to know this upcoming 2021 season. Tankard has a great lean and athletic frame and is an excellent speed prospect that can motor and make big time plays all over the field. He shows terrific closing speed and ability to play the ball in the air for a strong safety prospect, but has also shown the ability to play outside linebacker where he is tough in space, showing the ability to both set the edge and drop back in pass coverage.
836 — Cameron Upshaw, Jr., 6-2, 175, DB, 2023, Taylor County @CameronUpshaw2
Taylor County rising corner Cameron Upshaw is among the state’s biggest hidden gems in the 2023 class but has seen his stock take off this summer, earning his first offer and drawing attention from a host of other programs. At 6’2, 175-pounds, Upshaw is very long and lean along with being very fast and being an elite closer and downhill play making machine. He is the total package with good hips, the ability to turn and run in fluid motion and he has the kind of frame that will likely add good muscle mass with age without compromising his quickness. Upshaw recently pulled in an offer from Florida A&M and has also drawn interest from South Florida and several others.
