The Palm Beach area features several of the state’s top prospects at a variety of positions across the board. Here, Six Star Football takes a look at several QB prospects in the 2023 class that are showing up during the season but also putting in the time during the off-season.
Ryan Anthony, 5’11, 175, QB, 2023, Wellington @ryananthony0
Anthony is a strong multiple-sport athlete who has a good arm and good overall feel for the QB position. An underrated player who shows confidence and touch and can drop and plant his feet and let the ball fly for big over-the-top plays into the end zone. He has some mobility and scrambling ability but he shows good pocket awareness and is capable of stepping up and making throws. An athletic player with a strong arm and good control and some upside as a thrower. A stock riser who is focused on could easily take his game up a notch this upcoming season.
Lee Edwouard, 6’1, 185, QB/FS, 2023, Okeechobee @LeeEdouard4
A dual-threat athlete who shows great speed and the ability to avoid contact. He is a clear threat with the ball in his hands as he can make strong gains rushing when it looks like there’s nothing available. He has good footwork and the ability to jump over opponents and make them miss. He can also make strong throws on the run and can stay in the pocket and make throws as well. A multiple sport athlete who has long strides and a shiftiness to him that makes him difficult to wrap up. A promising athlete who has a good arm and the ability to escape pressure.
Ahmad Haston, 6’3, 175, QB, 2023, Palm Beach Central @ahmadhaston2
Haston is a strong QB prospect who has increased his decision-making and all around size and technique. He has a strong skill set and is capable of escaping pressure and making throws on the run. He has a big, reliable arm and has shown a strong upside as a thrower from both in the pocket and on the move and across his body as well. He has a well-built frame and he passes the eye test and shows a high ceiling as a QB prospect. A dual threat option who has a good skill set, Haston currently holds an offer from the University of Virginia.
Will Prichard, 6’3, 200, QB, 2023, The King’s Academy @WPrichard
A tall and well-developed prospect who shows a great arm and great ball placement. He’s a pro style QB who sees the field well and can throw receivers open in a variety of situations. He can scramble and is a bootleg threat who can make high percentage throws out of the pocket as well. A calm and high IQ prospect who shows a lot of upside and productivity and has already made a name for himself in the recruiting world. In his second year he completed 61 of 97 throws for 966 yards and had 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Prichard currently holds offers from Arizona, East Carolina, Auburn, Rhode Island, Utah, Ball State, UCLA, UTSA, Vanderbilt and Wyoming and he has received interest from a variety of other programs.
Joshua Ramos, 5’10, 170, QB, 2023, Suncoast @JoshRamos_7
A multiple sport athlete who shows potential as both a QB and an athlete. He is a developing player who has a good eye, a good arm and solid footwork. He can air things out for big plays of 20 plus yards and more and is a smart player who can get the ball to his skill players in space and with room for them to operate. An underrated player in the area and at his position who can make throws before taking the hit. He can scramble and move things with his legs and has underrated athleticism as well. Ramos plays for Reign 7v7 and is also a standout in the classroom and he reports a 4.37 GPA.
Quincy Rowe, 6’3, 220, QB, 2023, Boca Raton
A solid athlete who can see time as a tight end as well. Rowe has a large frame and a muscular build and he looks to get the ball out quickly and into the hands of his skill players. He has toughness and good balance and can operate as a ball carrier and a thrower. He can make big throws down the field and is comfortable both inside and outside the numbers. A developing player that could be able to take his game up a notch with continued reps and throws.
Joe Thomas, 5’11, 150, QB, 2023, Cardinal Newman @joethomas2023
Thomas is another multiple sport athlete who has the ability to make throws and plays with his legs. He has fair size and good speed and can showcase his arm strength from a clean pockets and when plays break down. Thomas has a lot of confidence as a thrower and can be known to gamble with throws, but he moves well and has good athleticism and he is great at finding his TE and making throws underneath. A player to keep your eyes on this offseason.
