The Tampa region features several of the state’s top prospects at a variety of positions across the board. With off and on-campus recruiting shut down for the time being, Six Star Football is taking an inside look at the prospects college programs are looking at this offseason.
Here, Six Star Football takes a look at several of the top OL prospects to know in the 2022 class in the Tampa area.
Trequan Alexander, 6’3, 250, OL, 2022, Jesuit @Mrihop_
Alexander is a prospect that is just violent and vicious with his blocks, lays people out and put them on their backs on a regular occasion and has that great size at 6-3, 250 with power and push and a nice 6-3 inch frame gives him some extra leverage over smaller DL as well. A guy that fires hardout of the snap and a player that loves to level the man in front of him to the ground. A ground and pound wear you down type OL that is very impressive.
Dallas Archie, 6’4, 315, OL, 2022, Lakewood Ranch @DallasArchie1
The first thing you notice about Archie is his great size at 6-4, 315 you can only imagine his pure frame and power as a big man that can make some great things happen. Archie is a big man that is talented off the edge with his ability to use his size as a major weapon and overpower nearly every defender he faces. One of those guys that is rising his stock in a hurry and making some very big gains along the way in getting next level looks.
Bruno Boyens, 6’3, 315, OL, 2022, Central Catholic @Boyensbruno
We take a look at one of the most impressive looking class of 2022 OL in Florida, the 6-3, 315 clearly has that big time size and power at 6-3, 315 and Boyens can make some great things happen up front for Central Catholic. We like Bruno’s ability to get out in front of plays and make some very nice blocks. Boyens is a guy that really gets under the defenders pads and drives his legs very well to get that impressive push off the line and pave a path for his teammates.
Preston Cushman, 6’3, 260, OL, 2022, Northside @Cush_51
Cushman is a good one and a guy for sure that will get some nice next level looks and interest and is a guy that has already made a huge impact in his two years at Northside. Cushman can really move his feet with the best of the best OL in Florida, a very active and impressive blocker, at 6-3, 260 he moves great and gets under the pads very well on defenders to make the push backwards and then drives them out of the play with his tall and long 6-3 frame.
TJ Demas, 6’2, 291, OL, 2022, Calvary Christian @demas_tj2022
Demas is all about power, and a ton of it, loves to push and shove and be a force of pure overpowering nature on the football field. One of those guys that makes you wish you would not have showed up with his power and dominant play making blocks up front for Calvary Christian. Demas is a big man that can use his hands very well, is a fighter and a guy that gives major effort and is one of those guys that can make the big holes with his blocking.
Jaden Giovenco, 6’4, 300, OL, 2022, TB Catholic @jaidengiovenco
Another big man that is over 300 pounds and stands a very impressive 6-4, Giovenco is a good one and considered to be one of the Florida big stock risers in the class of 2022, a guy that we think could be in store for one of the best and biggest seasons in 2020 among the Sunshine State’s best big men. Jaden is a player that shows he can use pure power and size to be one of the most impressive up and coming junior blockers out there.
Jacob Johanning, 6’2, 300, OL, 2022, Pinellas Park @JJohanning_67
A very good looking junior to be in the class of 2022, Pinellas Park’s Jacob Johanning is a 6-2, 300 pounder that is a good one and one of those guys that is looking for a very good 2020 season ahead. Jacob is a player that excels at being a big man that can be the man on top play after play, a really dominant big man with power and toughness also a nice mean streak to his game. Johanning is a player that can use both toughness and great technique to be a very good OL, love his demeanor on the field and his throw the defender to the ground type of playing style.
Josiah Lancaster, 6’5, 315, OL, 2022, Plant City
A very good looking big man and among the tallest OL prospects in the Florida class of 2022, Josiah Lancaster at 6-5, 315 has D1 size for sure and we like his ability very much also. Plays on the outside edge and has some very good hand work and moves much better that you would think he would. A very underrated prospect that we think will be among the best of the best with his pure size plus very impressive abilities. Watch out for Lancaster in the 2020 and 2021 seasons to rise up to the top of the list.
Mac Wiand, 6’4, 245, OL/LS, 2022, St Pete Catholic @macwiand56
Wiand is a very talented class of 2022 prospect that also is versatile enough to do some long snapping for St. Pete Catholic and is a player on the move and climbing the ranks among the Florida elite. Plays Center also and is a very talented snapper and a very sound player. Wiand also is tough and likes to square up and drive his man after snapping the ball., Very tough for his size and can overpower bigger defenders with his toughness and physical style of play.
Hayden Zepp, 6’3, 275, OL, 2022, Northside @ZeppHayden
Zepp has some nice movement and agility for a big man at 275,can get downfield as well and make some nice big and key blocks downfield that impress. Zepp is a guy that has a nice 6-3 frame as well and uses his leverage to dominate and push smaller guys off the ball and play some very nice smash mouth football. Zepp can make just about any block out there and has among the best footwork you will find for Florida’s top 2022 big men prospects.
