With the season underway, Six Star Football is taking an inside look at several of the regions most underrated prospects college prospects in the Daytona & St. John’s, First Coast and North Central area to know.
Gunner Boree, 5’11, 180, QB, 2021, Bolles @BoreeGunner
A Brown University baseball commit who has good speed, awareness and a strong arm. He slings it hard and looks to quickly plant his feet and look to the corners. He has strong footwork and impressive rhythm for his position, a player who looks electric when he drops back to throw a deep ball. Boree is a muscular prospect who hasn’t maxed out physically, showing good touch to his throws and good vision and timing to his throws as well. He throws a catchable ball, even when he’s putting some juice on it and can showcase his speed and mobility as well.
Matthew Craig, 6’2, 285, DL, 2021, Mandarin @bam_craig
A Tennessee Martin commit who has a lot of power and a strong upside. He has added some weight and strength and shows the ability to force blockers back and rattle interior lineman. He has great force after the snap and can get low and get blockers off balance. A 6’2, 285-pound player who shows up in one-on-one situations and can also handle himself when opponents double-team him. As a junior he had 102 tackles and is good at readjusting himself and getting to the ball carrier from behind or their weak side. A promising player who uses his strength to his advantage and can also showcase some speed and playmaking in the backfield.
Ja’Corey Jordan, 6’4, 192, QB, 2021, Trinity @jacoryjordan3
A Bowling Green football commit who brings a strong combination of size, athleticism and touch to the field. He is a strong prospect with a good, strong frame at 6’4, 192-pounds. He’s a dual-threat with the ball in his hands, capable of escaping pressure and scrambling for big, chain-moving plays down the field. He has a strong arm as well and can lead receivers with big throws. Jordan is great at going through his progressions and can find receivers inside and outside the numbers. A confident thrower of the ball with strong athleticism. Before announcing his commitment he also received offers from WKU, South Florida and Savannah State to name a few.
Max Monroe, 6’2, 210, QB, 2021, Ridgeview @Max_monroe55
An athletic QB prospect with good size, Ridgeview’s Max Monroe has helped lead Ridgeview to a 2-1 start to the 2020 season. Monroe has a good feel for pressure in the pocket, can slide to his left or right to avoid the rush and keep his eyes trained downfield. Monroe shows the ability to run the read option and can tuck it and run, showing the ability to pick up big yardage. A high football IQ performer,. Monroe can read a defense and make pre-snap reads. Monroe has earned an offer from Warner and drawn interest form several other programs, including Columbia University, Drake, West Florida, Kansas State and others.
Jaquez Moore, 6’0, 197, QB, 2021, Suwannee @Jaquez_02
One of Florida’s most underrated senior QB prospects, Suwannee 20201 Jaquez Moore is off to a strong start to his senior season fas he has shown poise and leadership helping the Bulldogs to a 3-1 start. At 6’0, 197-pounds, Moore is a strong, athletic QB prospect who shows a quick release, smooth mechanics and a live arm, especially when he steps into his passes. Moore plays the game under control and has a calm demeanor in the pocket as he doesn’t rattle easily. Capable of moving the chains with his legs, Moore has completed 53 percent of his pass attempts for 513 yards, eight TDs, three INTs while rusing for a team-high 298 yards and six TDs. A Georgia Southern commit, Moore also fielded offers from Army, Navy, Long Island, Tennessee-Tech and others.
Jacob Ritchie, 6’4, 235, TE, 2021, Creekside @jacobritchie111
Ritchie is a talented tight end prospect who brings an aggressive and relentless style of play to the field. He takes his assignments seriously, whether it is as a blocker or catching the ball downfield. A strong student in the classroom and a strong all-around athlete, Ritchie reports a 4.88 40, 30 inch vertical, 285 bench, 455 squat and 285 deadlift. He has drawn interest from a host of college programs, including offers from Stetson, Morgan State, Monmouth, Denison, Albright, Bates, DePauw, John Carroll, Rochester, Rose-Hulman and Warner. In the classroom, Ritchie reports a 4.1 GPA and 26 ACT.
