KANSAS CITY SHOWCASE: OL in the ’22 class that raised their stock – A look at some of the most impressive stock risers that really have been impressive and showed that they are some of the best in the best in their state’s, players like Iowa’s Davis County 315 pound big man Trey Armstrong, Osa from Junction City, and Wertz of Maize South are all among guys that really put in the work along with Chapman big man Sell.
Trey Armstrong, 6-1, 315, OL, 2022, Davis County (IA) @Treyarmstrong20
Was great to have a big man from Iowa in attendance at the 6Star Football Showcase, no doubt a big man at 6-1,315 that can use power and good hands to be a major enforcer and will be looking to be a big radar making during his senior year. Armstrong is a player that can also be a leader and will no doubt be a top senior to look at in the trenches for key blocks and toughness in 2021.
Kameron Auch, 6’0, 250, OL, 2022, Liberty North @kame_ron1
A very underrated lineman who can see time on both sides of the ball. Auch is a quick player after the snap who can cover ground and make powerful blocks. He is very productive and he stays with plays and is constantly looking to keep his opponent out of the way of the quarterback. A physical prospect with good hands and technique, he can walk an opponent completely out of position but is also capable of delivering some impressive hits and laying out some players who have both the height and speed advantage.
Mason Barnum, 5-9, 200, OL, 2022, Chapman @Mason32880807
Chapman has a nice group of veterans looking to go out their senior seasons with a year to remember in 2021 and we really like some of their lineman like Mason Barnum, a guy that is tough and knows the system very well and should be a nice key impact maker at Chapman in 2021. Chapman has had a very potent offense and Barnum has been one of the key protectors of his nice QB Trevor Erickson. Barnum gets the work done up front as a key blocker and is the starting right guard. Plays all over on defense and is a two way impact play maker that will look to provide some veteran leadership in 2020. Expect to hear from Barnum in 2021 as a key man making some noise where is counts, in the trenches with key springing blocks.
Charvez Carter, 6’1, 265, OL, 2022, Blue Springs South @CharvezCarter01
Carter is a well-balanced prospect who has been flying under the radar. He has a strong skill set and good hands and shows the ability to move his feet well and stay in front of opponents and keep them out of the way of the QB. He has been pushing himself in the off season and shows a lot of attention to his overall strength training as well as his technique and footwork. A player who has strength and can handle opponents with a size advantage on him and shows some potential moving forward.
Quentin Garrett, 6’2, 270, OL, 2022, Lafayette @QGarrett96
Garrett Is an intelligent offensive lineman who can also see time as a defensive tackle as well. He has good size, thickness and he processes things quickly as he looks to get off the line and hold opponents back and out of position. He can handle interior pass rushers and edge rushers and has good footwork and can shuffle his feet and fight for ground. A hard-nosed player in the trenches who just knows how to perform and create holes and has a lot of experience and is constantly making plays.
Curtis Humphreys, 6’2, 300, OL, 2022, Fulton @C_Humphreys73
A solid offensive lineman who shows a good combination of experience and hustle. He sees time at right tackle but can also move around the line and operates well in the run game. He’s an experienced player who has a high IQ and good leadership qualities. He hits hard and holds his weight well and can really outperform players that have a true height and speed advantage. A constantly evolving player who really pushes himself to improve.
Easton Lewis, 6’2, 305, OL, 2022, Lee’s Summit West @Eastonlewis79
Lewis is a promising player who has a lot of experience and versatility as an offensive lineman. A no nonsense lineman who does his job and continues to improve. He has earned several honors over the years including first team all-conference and second team all state and shows the ability to make strong plays as both a center and a guard. Lewis is physical and can push opponents out of the way and is great at creating holes up the middle for the run game. Also a pass protector who is capable of standing up opponents and can handle himself against those who have a size and especially a speed advantage up the middle.
Joron McCorkle, 6-1, 285, OL, 2022, KC Central @joron_mccorkle
McCorkle is a big man in the 2022 class for KC Central that can really use his 6-1 inch frame for leverage and power and knows how to do a good job of getting into the defender and then overpowering his opponent to the ground, plays tough and physical and has the size to be a major big man to know in the 2021 season. Colleges take a look at the 285 pound big man from KC Central.
TJ Osa, 6’1, 250, OL, 2022, Junction City @TJOsa2
One of the big men in Central Kansas that has a nice frame at 6-1, 250 pounds, Osa can be a big man that can move the pile and will be one of the key big men to take some notice of for the upcoming 2021 season. Osa, a player that will end his career as a three year starter on the offensive line for Junction City and be one of those very experienced big men with talent for next level colleges to look at. Big things in store for the big man entering his senior season.
Colt Sell, 6’1, 275, OL, 2022, Chapman @ColtSell
One of the most impressive junior OL in the state of Kansas entering the 2021 season has to be Chapman’s big man Colt Sell. Sell, a RT/RG & DE is an imposing 6-1 and 275 pounds and earned 2019 NCKL Honorable Mention D-Line and 2020 NCKL First Team All League OL-DL honors at Chapman. A big time two way impact maker that has shown a lot of talent on both sides of the pigskin and will be a huge college level type prospect to look at this upcoming season, size and a proven big man with a load of talent for sure.
Ethan Taylor, 5’11, OL, 2022, Liberty North @EthanTaylor_20
Taylor is a hard-nosed prospect who has been working hard on his offseason training over the last few years and has shown an increase in his momentum and conditioning and drive. He shows some potential at his frame and has a way of finding leverage and going as physical and as hard as he can until the whistle blows. A motivated player and one who has been pushing himself in the weight room as well.
Reid Trumbull, 6-1, 240, OL, 2022, Blue Valley North @Reid_Trumbull
Great build of power for the 6-1, 240 Trumbull who has the skills and footwork to be a major radar maker among Kansas class of ‘22 top OL next level names to know. We like Trumbull’s high IQ and proven abilities to not make many mistakes up front for Blue Valley North. This big man is a pure dominator up front and does an excellent job of demolishing and levelling his man, love his skills on the left side of the BV North O-Line. A player looking to have a monster senior year in 2021 and a player we think has college level written all over him.
