Meet Colton Morton of Sapulpa…Potential super star of the future for the Sapulpa offense and a player that is making a name for himself. Colton excels at being a very good route runner with nice speed , good hands, good field awareness, and physically is a taller player than most players and WR’s in his grade. The freshman (class of 2022) can get off press easily for his grade. Morton is a player that loves to compete and work on his skills daily, taking breaks kills him. Morton has a passion for the game that is unexplainable. Meet Colton Morton…..A player that is always working to get better and is very elusive, gets open 95% of the time on pass plays, has great hands, and uses his speed well.
Six Star — What camps did you attend during the offseason
Colton—I’ve been to the Dime Dropper camp that Battle put on this past summer. Im going to try and work with Marc Pugh and get on the Sooner 7 15u team for this upcoming summer
Six Star —How was your season this year
Colton—This past summer was an eye opener. Having only played my 8th and 9th grade year, I learned a lot and I think I soaked all of it in pretty well. I’m way faster than I was last year. I’m a smarter route runner than I was last year. I had 806 yards , 33 catches , 10 TD’s , and averaged 24.5 yards per catch in 8 games.
Six Star —Most Influential person
Colton—Would be either Giles Jackson or Eli Williams
Six Star —What camps did you attend and what did you take away from those
Colton—The only camp I attempted was the Dime Dropper camp but I tend on going to plenty more this upcoming summer. I feel like my speed has came a long way , my strength , route running , pretty much everything. I knew I had a lot to work on only playing for a year so I got to work and I feel like it payed off. I need to work harder this off season, for sure. I have a few college recruiters following me.
Six Star —What colleges have shown interest
Colton—NEO WR coach, Arkansas Danny West follows me, and a Northeastern Oklahoma State coach follows me.
Six Star —Pre game Ritual
Colton—My pregame ritual is just listening to music and thinking of the plays I’m going to make and how I’m going to run routes.
Six Star —Favorite song
Colton—would be Great Man by Kevin Gates
Six Star —Favorite class
Colton—would be math
Six Star —Best Game
Colton—My best game would be when we played Sand Springs. I got two picks, one was a pick 6 , and I got a fade TD.
Six Star —Biggest weight room accomplishment
Colton—I benched 225 in July.
Six Star —Teammate that could be a college star
Colton—Dangelo Mitchell.
Six Star —Hardest working teammate
Colton—other than myself would have to be Dangelo or Tyler Hartman. Dangelo. He’s a game changer and if he’s doing good the whole team is doing good.
