QBs that shined in Kansas City – HSeveral rising prospects showed off their abilities in Kansas City at St. Pius X High School last Sunday as part of the QBID Showcase proving they are prospects to watch next fall and beyond.
Owen Baxter, 5-7, 152, QB, 2024, Lincoln Southeast (Neb.) @o_baxter11
Baxter is one of the up and coming Nebraska QBs that has been impressive in the 2024 class, and this sophomore to be from Lincoln Southeast High is a player that has some things that really stand out about his game as well. Baxter is a player that can use both speed and a good arm to be a force, also a baseball player and a fine all around athlete, Baxter was one of the top class of 2024 QBs at the event and a player for sure that should turn some heads in the future.
Pernell Beasley, 6-4, 215, QB, 2022, St. Mary’s (Mo.) @pernell_beasley
Beasley has had a very busy offseason and is a player that has really put in the work the be as good of a senior prospect as can be, no doubt this long and athletic 6-4 play maker from St. Mary’s High School in St. Louis has been a player that has pulled in some nice next level attention from his skills, size and dedication to the game this offseason. All signs are pointing to a big final year and a rising with a strong, athletic frame at 215-pounds. Capable of making the big plays, we expect a big time and impressive 2021 from Beasley coming up this year.
Krytan Fyfe, 6-2, 190, QB, 2022, Grand Island Senior (Neb.) @kyfyfe2
A big and powerful player at QB, this 6-2, 190 pound tough as nails play making QB is a good one and should be one of the tops among Nebraska’s senior class the upcoming 2021 season, we expect some big things from the Grand Island Senior slinger and has proven that he is a big time looking athlete as well this offseason. Played 9 games had 64 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, 1 Int TD 9 pass break ups no TDs caught on. Offensively Fyfe started the first 4 games at receiver and running back then last five games he started at QB and played receiver and had 21 catches 221 yards 2 TDs along with his QB spot where he had 7 throwing TDs in 5 games and 4 rushing TDs in 5 games and threw for 789 yards played every snap of every football game. Also a keep defensive standout that added 34 tackles.
Trey Patrick, 6-0, 165, QB, 2023, Blue Springs South (Mo.) @Treyp_16
Patrick is a very impressive Kansas City area prospect in the 2023 junior to be class for Blue Springs South High School, Patrick is a play maker that can use big time 4.49 speed in the 40 yard dash, no doubt a flyer at the QB spot, an excellent outrun the defense type of play making QB with some fine down field vision and poise at the QB spot. Patrick is one of the most impressive athletes on the field at all times and has that knack for making defenders miss with his speed, no doubt going to be a hot prospect at QB and a top speed guy for the next level for colleges to look at.
Tyson Grammer, 6-0, 225, QB, 2024, Lawrence (Kan.) @GrammerTyson
One of the up and coming Kansas QBs in the class of 2024 that should be a major factor for Lawrence this upcoming season, Grammer is a player that can make huge plays and has the skills to be a good one. Lawrence who lost their QB to graduation in 2020 will be looking for a young and impressive player to step up and be a major factor this year and Grammer might fit that mold as a go to young talent for the next three years at Lawrence. No doubt a player that has the skills to step into and be a major factor.
