Meet Jacob Barrett…An athlete, and a WR/QB that is putting up some huge receiving and passing numbers for Checotah High School. To say that this juniors career has already been successful is a huge understatement.
Barrett is a true talent that can’t be overlooked and his all the tools to bring his game to the next level after what will likely be a huge senior season for Checotah.
Oh, in case we forgot to mention it Barrett is also a three sport athlete who also plays baseball and basketball and also holds a 3.87 gpa in the classroom.
This season marked Jacob’s first time playing at the WR spot. Barrett ended with 56 catches for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Last year at QB Jacob had 26 TD’s 1,400 yards passing and 900 yards rushing. Barrett’s parents moved out of Okmulgee to Checotah they had a starting SR QB, so they asked Jacob to move to WR. He ended up playing WR, PR, KR and CB. His coaches and scouts alike will tell you he has a start quick and shifty style of play with great vision on the field and great hands, as well as a high football IQ.
Barrett has had Rice, Arizona State, Washington State and Miami Ohio reach out to him. He will be at UCO doing an unofficial visit.
