SEVERAL TALENTED TE PROSPECTS IMPRESS AT MIDWEST SHOWCASE – A look at some of the top TE prospects from the Midwest Showcase that shined among top performers.
Marcus Parker | 6’4, 240 | TE | 2024 | Park Hill South | @MarcusP0053
One of two talented prospects who attended Sunday’s event who hold PWO from Power 5 programs, Park Hill South 2024 Marcus Parker is one of the state’s top TE prospects still on the board. He recorded 119 inch broad jump, 4.82 laser timed 40-yard dash and 4.22 pro agility at the Midwest Showcase, his third Six Star Football event. He has run a laser timed 4.7 40 at previous events. A recent decommit from Navy, Parker is a hidden gem at the tight end position who should be receiving more attention from NCAA Division I programs. He has a strong, powerful frame, is a dominant blocker and shows good agility for a big man with good hands and downfield playmaking skills. If a camp MVP was selected on Sunday it very well might have gone to Parker who was impressive throughout the event. In addition to a PWO from Mizzou, Parker picked up a recent offer from Augustana.
Paxton Wehner | 6’3, 220 | OLB/TE | 2024 | Kickapoo| @paxtonwehner
A talented TE prospect, Wehner also impressed this past season at OLB and worked out at the position in the AM session at the Midwest Showcase. Blessed with good size and a projectable frame, Wehner has impressed at several showcase events with his all-around athleticism and Sunday was no different as he recorded a 116 inch broad jump, 4.90 laser timed 40-yard dash and 4.19 pro agility — the top pro agility among tight ends and a top ten overall performance among 350 athletes. Wehner, whose dad played at Missouri Southern and uncle played at Miami, Fla., recently picked up a PWO from Nebraska and has also drawn significant NCAA Division II interest.
Eric Smith II l | 6’3, 215 | TE | 2025 | Atchison (KS) | @ericsmithlll85
Earned an invite to TheFINALS All-America Showcase and Smith was a standout performer that turned many heads in St. Joseph and was one of the top ends we have seen this entire season. A huge part in helping Atchison go 10-1 on the season and one of the offensive guys with length and some power, Smith is just a junior and is making a bigger and bigger name for his game as one of the premier looking stock risers to know among ‘25s in Kansas football. 70 tackles and five sacks also goes to show his total impact as a two way talent in the Atchison lineup.
Lucas Estes | 6’4, 185 | TE | 2024 | St. Michael the Archangel (KS) | @LEstes34
Estes was one of the more impressive looking senior talents on display at the Midwest Showcase held at Missouri Western and at 6-4, 185 is one of the longer targets that attended among TE prospects and a player that should be a name to know among the ends in Kansas football. Estes punched his ticket to the FINALS as well, just a few day before the showcase Lucas earned an offer from Nebraska Wesleyan and has all the tools to be a next level hot prospect.
Ryan French | 6’2, 190 | TE | 2024 | Lansing (KS) | @ryan32french
French has been on the radar for several college programs and is one of those guys that has earned several offers with his good hands and toughness at end for Lansing High School, the 6-2, 190 senior hot prospect has earned offers from Ottawa, Mid-America Nazarene, McPherson, Culver-Stockton, William Penn, and Bethel as one of the the guys several programs have really been impressed by. French was named a UKC Honorable Mention TE with 30 catches for 320 yards, 4 receiving TDs and added one rushing TD. A prime end prospect that has impressive skills.
Jayden Houghton | 6’4, 215 | TE | 2025 | Frontenac (KS) | @jaydenhoughton6
Hougton is one of the most promising junior ends we have seen and was the end in the 2025 class we think has a big chance to pick up several senior offers with his size, power, grit and toughness at 6-4, 215 pounds, this Frontenac end brings a wide ranging skill set that should make him one of the top recruits among Kansas seniors come 2024. Houghton . Big power with a 320 bench, 50+ tackles on defense as a menace that brings that aggressive style of play colleges are looking for.
Tyson Shivers | 6’3, 215 | TE | 2025 | Boone (IA) | @Tyson_shivers
Shivers was one of the guys whose name we became more and more impressed by after seeing the big man from Boone. 6-3, 215 pounds and a junior. Tyson played a key role this season on both sides of the football for Boone and had 7 receptions for 92 yards and was tough on defense with 40 tackles, 24 solo, 3 sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery. Has the length and some impressive power to make him a name to know. Also a talented player on the hardwood at Boone.
Jake Winkelbauer | 6’3, 185 | TE | 2025 | Bishop LeBlond (MO) | @basketball13324
Local product from St. Joseph, Mo. Bishop LeBlond impressed and earned an invitation to TheFINALS All-America Showcase. The basketball and football talent is a high flyer among TE prospects, the 6-3, 185 pounder is one of those targets that can make himself bigger than most and is a good hands end that has made some of those grabs that impress. All-State selection at end and All-District two way end as well for Bishop LeBlond, he had 583 yards and eight touchdowns on a very nice season at end as a junior.
