A look at several talented Six Star Football Showcase prospects putting together strong senior seasons
With the 2021 season set to begin soon, Six Star Football takes a look at several Prospects who shined this spring at the Six Star Football Florida Showcase in Fort Lauderdale and are putting together a big senior season this fall.
Yazan Abu-Zaid, 5’9, 200, MLB/TE, 2022, Windermere @Yazan_Abuzaid25 Orlando (Central)
A solid player who can stand up opponents and even force turnovers with contact. He’s an aggressive middle linebacker who sees the field well and is good at staying close to the line and making contact quickly after the opponent crosses the line. He is also capable of getting to the backfield some and can trip up opponents for a loss or after a short gain and is also good at helping his teammates finish plays in a variety of ways. . He’s also been able to operate some as a blocking and receiving tight end. He currently holds an offer from Sawanee: University of the South.
Jason Arias, 6’0, 210, MLB/LS, 2022, North Marion @jasonarias45 Mid Florida (Central)
A versatile athlete with good strength and leverage who can see time as a LB, defensive lineman and LS. A strong and capable player who hits hard and has good all-around awareness off the line. He moves well in short space and can find ways to get past blockers and make good tackles in the backfield and can showcase his speed in open field situations as well. He has been able to operate as a MLB but with increased strength he has seen a productive amount of time as a DL, as both an interior and exterior pass rusher. A solid player who continues to add strength and continues to develop with added reps. He currently holds an offer from Greenville University. Also a standout in the classroom who reports a 4.08 weighted GPA and a 1150 SAT score.
Brock Brown, 5’11, 210, MLB, 2022, Lake Mary @brockbrown040 Orlando (Central)
A three sport athlete who shows good agility and hand-eye coordination. Brown continues to show good playmaking ability, both when making plays on the ball and at finishing plays and making strong tackles. Brown is very productive and shows good leadership and timing and can get off blockers and find a way to make a tackle in traffic and in space. He is a strong player with a muscular frame who pushes hard and can fight off pressure and surprise opponents with his blindside tackling, overall balance and ability to wrap up quick opponents. He is aggressive and quick and shows up as both an inside and outside LB. Also a standout in the weight room who reports a 275 bench, 500 squat and a 235 clean. He also reports a 3.0 GPA.
Chris DiLeo, 6’0, 220, MLB, 2022, Sommerset Canyons @Chr_dil Palm Beach (SE)
A hard-nosed player who has a good combination of power and strength, DiLeo shows a versatile skill set and the ability to contribute in a variety of positions. He is a strong, muscular player who is very aggressive and plays with a lot of passion and confidence. He is very good at making his way past blockers and has the speed to catch up with opponents and make drive-saving tackles along the sideline. A pliable athlete who understands his position, athleticism and how to put himself in a great situation to make tackles and force stops. Also a combine and weight room standout as well who reports a 4.7 40 yard dash, 315 bench, 12.6 100 meter, 405 squat, 425 deadlift and a 205 clean.
Bryce Harris, 5’10, 225, MLB, 2022, Heritage (Palm Bay) @Bryceha55 Space & Treasure (Central)
A tough, physical athlete who can make strong tackles and help stop the run. He is a muscular middle linebacker who has good strength and timing and is great at making contact and finding the ball carrier. Harris has good size at 5’10, 225-pounds and is able to change directions and get the ball and is able to make some good hits at the line. A player with a good combination of upper and lower body strength who can stand up RBs and keep them in place. He is a standout in the weight room and also reports a 29.9 inch vertical and 102 mark in the broad jump A 3.7 GPA student who is dual-enrolled.
Cornell Thomas, 6’1, 220, MLB, 2022, Manatee @cornellthomas33 Suncoast (Tampa)
A multiple sport standout who has great speed and a strong overall IQ. He’s a fast prospect, reports a 4.65 laser time 40, and can make things happen in a variety of situations in space, in the backfield and close to the line. Thomas is an underrated and under recruited player with a great ability to get to the ball from across the field. He flies around the field and shows good strength, toughness and all-around playmaking ability. A player with real upside to his game, Thomas currently holds an offer from St. Thomas University. Also a solid student in the classroom who reports a 3.4 GPA.
