A look at several rising QB prospects to know.

Florida’s Palm Beach area features several talented prospects to know entering the all-important upcoming offseason as prospects gear up for various camps, combines and 7on7 showcases. Here, Six Star Football takes a look at several rising QB prospects in the 2023 class.

Prospects can register for the upcoming Six Star Football Florida Showcase at the link. This event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29 at Somerset Academy Canyons in Boynton Beach.

Gulf Coast 2023 Konner Barrett is a rising QB prospect that passed for 13 touchdowns and averaged 209.9 yards passing per contest.  Barrett, a 6-1, 190 junior, is a player that was a major impact maker and is one of the area QB prospects that had a major productive junior campaign. Barrett had 2,099 yards for the Sharks through 10 games this year and went 149 for 254 for a 58.7% completion clip on the ‘21 season. Barrett, who has a D1 offer from Middle Tennessee State, also  took a game day visit to SEC power Auburn and has interest from Tulane, Yale, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, and many more. He and teammate Joe Miller recently went to Georgia Southern this past weekend and Barrett has an invite to Florida this coming weekend.


Hosea Booker, 5’11, 195, QB, 2023, Palmetto Ridge @HoseaBooker
A strong-armed lefty, Palmetto Ridge 2023 Hosea Booker came on strong this season for the Bears. He shows good footwork in the pocket and has a calm, smooth demeanor. Booker can make a variety of throws as he shows good touch on his deep ball, can fit throws into tight windows over the middle and hit the out route as well. He threw for 978 yards in ten games this season for 11 TDs and eight INTs while also rushing for 533 yards and six scores.


Matt Depalma, 6’0, 165, QB/ATH, 2023, OOD @depalma_matt
Out of Door 2023 Matt Depalma made the switch from WR to QB this season as the do-everything prospect put together a strong season throwing the ball for the Thunder. He is a talented pass catcher with good hands and route running abilities, but took over at QB this season and showed good leadership in the position. He was a threat to break contain and run out of the backfield, and showed good arm strength and the ability to deliver the ball downfield. Depalma has shined while competing for AIR5 7on7 Elite and is a player to keep an eye on in the Suncoast Region of Florida.


Bryce Eaton, 6’1,180, QB, 2023, Port Charlotte @BryceEaton10
Port Charlotte 2023 QB Bryce Eaton has come on strong this season for the Pirates as he has shown good leadership and all-around play. Eaton is a traditional pocket passer with the ability to hang tough in the pocket and deliver the ball downfield with good consistency. Eaton threw for 1,316 yards, completed 53 percent of his passes and hit 12 TDs and eight INTs in nine games.  Eaton put together a strong summer prior to the season as well,, competing at several high profile college camps, including Florida State, Florida and others. Also a strong student, Eaton reports a 4.0 GPA.

One of Southwest Florida’s top performers this season, rising junior Ty Keller put together a huge performance for First Baptist Academy as he helped the Lions put together a 9-1 record.  Keller passed for a huge total 2,197 yards on the 2021 season for the Lions, and went 133 for 213 passing for a 62.4% completion mark, no doubt a hot junior arm to pay some major attention to, Keller averaged 219.7 yards per game and passed for a whopping 33 touchdowns and just five INTs for the 2021 campaign.  Passed for 263 yards against Seffner Christian in the Lions most recent game.  Also a standout student, Keller reports a 4.2 GPA and 1300 SAT.


Trey Rutan, 6’0, 170, QB, 2023, Lemon Bay @Trey_rutan 
Lemon Bay 2023 Trey Rutan is a dual sport athlete who had a very respectable junior season for the Manta Rays. Playing in a run-heavy offense that attempted 60 passes and 300 rushes in nine games, Rutan passed for 641 yards in his eight games of  action, completing 26 passes on 57 attempts for 12 TDs and just one INT this season. A strong runner, Rutan has good quickness, reads his blocks well and shows toughness as a runner, able to take a hit or power through initial contact. Also a standout baseball prospect, Rutan is a strong armed pitcher on the diamond.
